Excellence and Ovation

Spectacular start of the symphony season of Cape Town Philharmonic lead by Maestro Panteleev. Works such as Sibelius Symphony No.2, Tchaikovsky's "Pathetique", Franck Symphony in D-Minor or Brahms "Ein Deutsches Requiem" were highly aclaimed by the public and press.

'EXCELLENCE AND OVATION'

"Panteleev's reading of Brahms's monumental score was a largely mellow even gentle conception, although certainly not losing the intensity of the dramatic highlights within the work. Orchestral playing was excellent and Panteleev captured the Brahmsian resonances faithfully. Even better was the sence of weight he engendered - not the same thing as loud, and far more difficult to achieve."
